YOUR HOSTS

Lauren and Selma met in 2019 at the Ullan Knit Retreat in Northern Ireland hosted by Kate @kate_hawthorncottagecraft and Emma Robinson of Wooly Mammoth Fibers. We’ve been knitting and talking together ever since and occasionally throw yarn or other coveted items across the border to each other.

Lauren Baldwin

Lauren doesn’t remember learning to knit but believes her mother taught her originally as a small child. Many other skilled and talented knitters helped her build on those first basic skills during her childhood and adulthood. She has been knitting avidly since after her first child was born in 1996 and has taught knitting, worked as a help person at a yarn shop, and hosted knitting retreats in New Mexico. She works in the legal profession, lives in Albuquerque, and hikes and backpacks around the Southwest. She is excited to knit and hike with everyone at the Ranch, one of her favorite spots in the world.

Selma Incesulu

Selma Incesulu is a knitter and occasional desiger who lives in Ottawa, Canada, with her family. She also has a youtube channel called Little Big Knits where she shares her love of knitting and other crafts from time to time. While Selma knits a variety of items, she especially enjoys making sweaters. She knit her first sweater at the age of 14 and has never stopped, thus gathering a wealth of knowledge over time. She is looking forward to sharing this knowledge with you at the retreat!
